These cyanotypes were made in the Birmingham sunshine with plants and feathers foraged from the countryside and my garden.

Cyanotype is a historical photographic process where chemicals are painted onto the surface of the paper or fabric in subdued lighting. Once dry the paper is placed in the sun with objects on held down with glass. The sun exposes the chemicals. The paper is then washed in water and the exposed areas of the paper turn blue.

Each notebook is completely unique.

This cyanotype was made in the Birmingham sunshine with a Willow leaf from my garden.

Cyanotype is a historical photographic process that uses UV rays from the sun to expose chemicals painted onto fabric and paper. When exposed and rinsed, the chemicals turn blue.

Sold unframed and unmounted. This is a 'wet cyanotype' which had water and soap suds added during exposure.

Cyanotypes are archival, however it is advisable to display the print away from direct sunlight which can cause print to fade. If fading occurs, washing the print in a dilute bath of hydrogen peroxide will usually restore it to its original intensity.
